As Netflix expands its already-large database of films and tv shows, it also has a large amount of original content coming out within the next few months. Keep an eye out for some of their original movies slated for release this year!

Girlfriend’s Day

Girlfriend’s Day is about a failing writer looking for his purpose in life, who embarks on a quest to win a contest for writing the best card for the new holiday “Girlfriend’s Day.” However, things take a turn when he gets caught up in a web of crime and murder as writers vie to create the most romantic card. The film will be available to stream on February 14th.

I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore

This comedy crime thriller portrays a woman tired of stepped on. When her house is robbed, it’s the last straw – she and her neighbor decide to track down the thieves who burgled her, running into adventure and excitement along the way. The film is released February 24th.

Deidra & Laney Rob a Train

A promisingly fast-paced comedy, Deidra & Laney Rob a Train says it all in the title: two sisters start robbing trains to make ends meet, after their mother lands in jail. The film premieres at the Sundance Film Festival before reaching Netflix on March 17th.

The Discovery

This film stars Jason Segel and Rooney Mara, a man and woman living in a world where the existence of the afterlife has been verified scientifically. The trailer draws you in, not giving away too much about the outcome of the movie’s events. Look for it on Netflix starting March 31st.

Blame!

Blame! is an anime film, adapted from a highly popular manga by Tsutomu Nihei. It follows Killy, living in a dystopian future called “The City,” who embarks on a mission to save humanity. The movie doesn’t have an official release date yet, but is coming sometime soon in 2017.
