For this year’s spirit week, the leadership students have a lot in store. The order of the days have not yet been chosen, except that Friday will be, as it traditionally is, a Big Red day in preparation for the pep rally and the varsity football game versus Madison High School that night. The other four days will go hand in hand with the theme of Disney.

One day will be Frontier Land Day. Frontier Land is part of Magic Kingdom, a park of Disney World, and it includes iconic rides such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. To dress up for it, students will wear country or western themed clothing. Flannels, cowboy boots, and faded jeans will be acceptable for this spirit day.

Another day will be Main Street USA Day, where students will show their patriotism and rock the red, white, and blue. Main Street USA is the street through which guests enter the Magic Kingdom, which is complete with traditional American shops and a quintessential view of Cinderella’s castle.

A fourth spirit day will be Disney Character Day, where students can wear costumes of any Disney character they can possibly think of. Anything Disney goes, so students can group up with their friends and be all the characters from a specific Disney tale.

The final day will be Tomorrowland Day. Tomorrowland, located in the Magic Kingdom, was designed to portray Disney’s view of the future. Senior leadership student Ellie Duvall says that for this day, students will dress in clothing they consider to be futuristic.

Spirit week will kick off October 21st and end the 25th with a leadership-planned pep rally. During the week there will be lunch games, door decorating competitions, and other contests to celebrate the week leading up to homecoming, which is on October 26th.
