Gavin Pin is the new freshman class president. Pin made an appeal to his fellow freshman in his campaign video by promising to fight for what freshman want.

“Our school is infested with upperclassmen who don’t care about freshman ideas and that’s why I’m here … to bring some great ideas to the table,” Pin said.

Pin appeared in a hazmat suit and goggles, playing into his bit about sanitizing the school of upperclassmen control. Pin also went on to describe other reasons why he should be chosen.

“I have exceptional school spirit, good leadership skills, and I’m always up for new activities,” Pin said.

McLean’s hallways have been plastered with campaign poster from all ten candidates since last week. All of the presidential hopefuls, vying for freshman support, created campaign videos to be shown to their classmates.

Campaign videos were shown on Wednesday October 11, following the PSAT. After the videos were shown, freshman had a chance to vote electronically through google forms. They could only cast one vote for president.

The three runners-up were given spots on the class council. The 2021 class council members are Chelsea Park, Andy Min and Juliette Osguthorpe.
