Hidden behind a family-owned halal market is the new hottest food truck on TikTok: Loaded. As you walk up to the truck, there are lines of people waiting to order and anxiously awaiting their food.
Loaded first gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram for its unique build-your-own style, featuring special ingredients such as halal meats, mac and cheese, and a signature sauce. Many food trucks of this variety have appeared before, such as Flavor Hive in Vienna, but Loaded took off because of its loaded potatoes and fries, which you can find nowhere else.
$16.5: Build your own Loaded fries, cheese sauce, mac and cheese, hot dogs, chicken, loaded sauce, jalapeños and hot cheetos – 8.7/10
These fries were unlike any; they start with a Cajun fry base, which, by themselves, are amazing. The mix of toppings and the surprisingly tasty halal meats creates a rich, savory taste you won’t forget. The hot dog and chicken were two spectacular choices and both were their best sellers. The mac and cheese and cheese sauce may have been a bit overboard, but they still added a great flavor. The crunch of the jalapenos and hot Cheetos really tied it together, creating an amazing mix. The one downfall of the fries is how soggy they get after trying to reheat them the second time. It is kind of an eat-it-all-at-once type of food, which is very hard with how rich it is. Splitting one would probably be the best idea.
$20: Build your own Loaded potato, butter, mac and cheese, chicken, bacon bits, signature loaded sauce, jalapeños, crispy onions – 9/10
With a rich potato base, the loaded potato is the most filling thing on the menu. The mac and cheese added a nice contrasting taste to the starchy potato. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and was given in heaping portions. The jalapeños added a striking burst of spice that fit very well with the seasoning on the chicken. The onions added a crisp crunch that was much needed in a very soft and soggy meal, and the loaded sauce was a perfect addition that meshed well with the mac and cheese and the seasoning that the chicken offered. Like the fries, the potato does not reheat well, so it would be advised to either eat the whole heaping portion as one or to share with at least one other person.
$8.5: Strawberry lemonade – 10/10
The strawberry lemonade was a sweet and amazing-tasting option; they combined regular lemon and added a syrup/sauce into the mix, which made for an exceptional drink on its own and really helped elevate the experience in combination with the fries.
$8.5: Mango lemonade – 10/10
The lemonade was easily the best part of this meal. The flavor burst of mango tasted nearly as fresh as biting into one itself. The portion was huge once again, but it serves as the perfect contrast to the starchy and seasoned potato.
Overall, Loaded is a perfect place to go if you are looking for large portions, excellently seasoned food and amazingly fresh lemonade. That is why we give Loaded a 9/10 overall.
