The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) and the Beyond Beauty Club hosted a joint meeting on Wednesday in a collaborative effort to embrace self-care and expression through bracelet and phone-keychain making.

“The activity reflected Beyond Beauty Club’s mission because it allowed everyone to use art as a way to express themselves and celebrate their identity,” said junior Ava Zhang, founder and president of Beyond Beauty Club. “Each bracelet was personal and different, mirroring our club’s encouragement for everyone to embrace their own identity and see beauty in creativity.”

The meeting provided an opportunity for members of each club to actively engage in and share their passion for artistic curation.

“I really enjoyed the meeting because I got to express my individuality and decompress from a stressful day at school,” junior Audrey Gharakanian said. “It was also fun to interact with club members of Beyond Beauty Club for the first time.”

With over 50 different kinds of beads to select from, members were able to create a perfectly personalized jewel to cherish.

“I used seven really shiny beads in the middle of my bracelet and 40 small, pearl beads on the end of each side to give the design balance,” said Wonwoo Do, co-president of NAHS.

Beyond Beauty Club and NAHS’s niches were well captured and organized throughout the meeting.

“I loved that we could make something as simple as a bracelet or phone charm unique to every one of us, reminding me how art can bring people together in a fun and engaging way,” Zhang said. “It showed how beauty and art can intertwine, helping members from both clubs connect through shared creativity and self-expression.”

Both clubs hope to have similar turnouts in upcoming joint meetings.

“I would love to have a [another] joint meeting in the future,” Zhang said. “I think it’s a great way for people to collaborate and share creative ideas, building a strong sense of community between the two clubs.”
