One of the most attractive sites at the Tysons Galleria Mall is the Shotted Cafe, known for its strong coffee drinks and famous pistachio-flavored treats. When we entered, we were overwhelmed with the Saudi-Arabian vibes and decorations around the cafe. The atmosphere of Shotted is what made it different it from surrounding stores and cafes in the Galleria, as it brought a unique sense of cultural diversity and enrichment. The menu contained iced specialty drinks lined up on the menu, and we were excited to review the most famous items.
Iced Chai Latte – 4.5/5
The Iced Chai Latte was the drink we were least excited to taste, as we imagined it would have a normal chai flavor. However, this drink was pleasantly surprising. The strong notes of cinnamon stood out to us and made the latte more enjoyable. This drink was the sweetest of all of the ones we tried, but we found it to not be overpowering; it highlighted the various spices in the drink. Additionally, this latte was the most aesthetically pleasing that we reviewed. The Iced Chai Latte is a solid choice for any Chai enthusiast.
Iced Pistachio Latte – 4/5
This drink had a very good coffee flavor, which was the first taste we detected. On the other hand, the pistachio flavor came in as an aftertaste. Although we expected it to have a strong flavor, the pistachio could barely be enjoyed. In other words, the drink’s strong coffee flavor overpowered the pistachio. Still, there was still a decent amount of sweetness to the drink, and it wasn’t very watery, considering the amount of ice put into the drink. At $6.50 for the smallest size, this was the most expensive drink we tried; however, it was mostly worth the extra cost.
Iced Spanish Latte – 3/5
We were not sure what to expect from the Spanish Latte. However, we were quite surprised (and a little disappointed) to find that it tasted exactly like a classic latte. Similar to the Iced Pistachio Latte, this drink also had a very strong coffee taste. Of all of the drinks we tried, this one had the least complex flavor. It had such a small amount of sugar that it almost tasted unsweetened. While we still found the flavor relatively enjoyable, it would be hard to finish the entire latte even when ordering a smaller size. One upside of this drink was the price; one latte cost $5.60, making it tied for least expensive alongside the Iced Chai Latte.
Shotted is worth giving a visit, especially if you’re into a cultural-themed cafe that serves up tasty drinks. Just be conscious of certain items and their prices!
