New sweetgreen opens in McLean

On Tuesday, October 29th, a new sweetgreen restaurant (part of a regional chain) opened in McLean next to the Chipotle off Old Dominion. The first two days of the restaurant were marked by a "pay what you want" deal many McLean students took advantage of.

New lunch line incorporates student cultures

Recently, a new lunch line was added. Called the “Asian Station”, this new line replaces what used to be the fourth lunch line with Asian food. However, not only does this lunch line diversify what the school serves, but it also helps to integrate the many cultures of McLean’s diverse students.

This news article aims to inform the McLean High School public about the Lunch and Learn Program for the 2013-2014 school year. Some changes have been made to this program, which provides students with peer to peer tutoring and a chance to be productive during lunch time.

From last school year to the current one, McLean High School's cafeteria has lost a microwave. As a result, students who rely on microwaves to heat up their food are losing a significant and frustrating amount of time eating their food. To rid the school of this problem, microwaves must be added to the cafeteria.

Allen Harris and Aidan Barringer went to the local sushi joint, Ichiban. With the intention to satisfy our pallets, and fill our young bellies, we ordered several sushi rolls, and eel tempura. We also enjoyed some tea. This meal was well worth the value. One may find higher quality sushi at Tachibana, but at a greater cost. When you are young, and free, Ichiban is ideal. Keep your heart open.

Students need more time for lunch

The article focuses on the idea that students need more time for lunch. The current McLean High School schedule gives students 20 to 30 minutes for lunch. The main point of the article is that in the high stress enviornment of MHS in which students take a lot of difficult courses, students should have more break time at lunch.
These buns were cooked on a different day, but turned out just as well as the first batch.
