Driving is awful

Many people believe that it is a bad idea to meet your childhood heroes. My childhood hero, however, was a little different. It was not an athlete, actor, or singer. Instead, my hero was the car, and the freedom that being able to drive seemed to bring.
"25 when flashing" implies the speed is not 25 when the sign is not flashing.

Idylwood Road – A Misleading Speed Trap

Idylwood Road, particularly right in front of Kirby Elementary School, is held to the speed limit of 25 mph. The average flow of traffic on that road is at least 35 miles per hour, and there is a sign that states "Speed Limit 25 when flashing", implying that the limit is not regularly 25.

A mysterious dead creature was found along Westmoreland on the sidewalk across from Kirby Park on Sunday, October 26. It appeared to be some sort of heron and was quite sizable; it was large enough to be noticed by several students on their way to and from school.
McLean's parking is clogged with cars of students who do not need to drive.

Students must stop clogging the roads

Students exacerbate Northern Virginia's traffic problems by needelessly driving to school. If they tried riding the free bus instead, they and the community would see benefits. Students would save money on gas, and avoid potential accidents. Convincing students to stop driving will be difficult, but will grow among the student body gradually.
