Tiny Wings, with its simple and engrossing gameplay mechanics, is the perfect example of an app done right. The game is centered on guiding a flightless bird to its nest by sliding down hills to gain speed and using other hills as jumps. It is not bogged down with unnecessary power ups or micro-transactions. Tiny Wings is great because you can pick it up whenever you have a few minutes. It is simple, engaging, and a great purchase.

Minesweeper Q – Free
Minesweeper Q is a game based on clearing an area around strategically placed mines. It is pretty difficult to mess up Minesweeper; this app retains the basic features and gameplay. However, it still has major flaws. This includes the inability to zoom out and the fact that “novice” is the only difficulty level that is not tedious to play because the screen is locked to a 9×9 grid. Even with its flaws, Minesweeper Q still a fun way to waste time and stimulate your brain.
Final word: Not good, but playable.
Tetris – $2.99
Tetris is a classic puzzle game. The objective of Tetris is to make the boxes fit with each other to clear the lines and prevent the blocks from reaching the top of the screen. The addicting gameplay is as good as ever in this iteration of Tetris. The Tetris app for the iPhone is fun, challenging, and offers new game modes and features. The new “magic mode” adds power ups and different starting stages, which gives the game much more depth. The “marathon mode” has been changed to increase difficulty and speed as the game progresses.
Final word: Fun puzzle game at a great price!
