Coming this fall is going to be one of the biggest decisions for gamers around the world…. should they buy the Xbox One or the Playstation 4? Both consoles are competing with each other and trying to surpass each other with features. Let’s take an in depth view of the feature about the Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Xbox One:
Microsoft’s Next Generation “Entertainment” System. Note that I did not say gaming system, Microsoft has said that this is more than a gaming system and is meant for the family, not just the gamer. The Xbox One will come with the new Kinect camera as it detects all motion as the player will use that to guide through the menu and games. The Xbox One will have the capability to connect to your cable system and you can have dual scene, one showing the game the player is playing and the other is a scene that shows the cable and what is on tv. Inside the Xbox One, it comes with built-in wifi, not that god awful wireless adapter the player had to buy in order to have a wireless connection. A built in blu-ray player will allow you to watch all your high definition DVD’s and a faster processor will lessen the lag on highly detailed games. The controller is relatively the same, the groves on the joysticks are more indented to allow the player to have more grip, but thats about it.

Sony’s Next Generation “Entertainment” System. Instead of using the Kinect type of camera to guide through the menus, the system will have the conventional controller guided menu system. The gaming system itself is smaller than its predecessor, Playstation 3 Slim, this will allow easy mobility when the player has to move the console elsewhere and can store it in tighter spaces. There will be the conventional built in wifi and blu ray disc player. The faster processor and disc reader will have the capability to have backwards compatibility as the player will be able to play their previous Playstation console games. The controller will have one major difference from its predecessors. There is going to be a small touch screen in the middle of the controller that will have certain features in games that allow it to be used.

I’m going to buy the Playstation 4, for one reason and one reason only…. the price. The Xbox One has no backward compatibility, so I will have wasted all my Xbox 360 games. Also the Xbox One comes at a mean price tag of 500 dollars not including the 60 dollars a year for playing online. The Playstation 4 is 400 dollars and costs only 15 dollars for online play which in my opinion is the best option due to the fact that these consoles play all the same games I like. This is my opinion on why I’m buying the Playstation 4 and not the Xbox One.
