Located in Falls Church, The Loving Hut is the hottest new Vegan restaurant. With walls covered in vegan celebrities, this restaurant tries to make the seemingly impossible diet a walk in the park.
I started out with a Strawberry Bubble Tea. The drink was just the right consistency for a smoothie, and contained delicious, fresh strawberries. Easily the highlight of the entire meal.
Sadly, my entree was the low-light of the meal. The Golden Vermiccelli with Lemongrass Protein was tasteless and cold. I am not entirely accustomed to vegan entrees, so perhaps this is a typical occurrence. However, I was highly disappointed and could barely eat half of it. The apparently “homemade-sauce” that came on the side looked promising, but was just as tasteless. Perhaps the dull red color was supposed to trick my taste buds into enjoying it the dish. Nice try.
Moving on from the main course, the Loving Hut has a huge selection of vegan desserts, canoli, cookies, brownies, and even a several cheesecakes. Although I have no idea how a dairy-less “cheesecake” still qualifies as a “cheese”cake. Opting for the canoli, I was pleasantly surprised. The outside was flaky and crisp, and the inside creamy and delicious.
Although the entree proved to be a bust, the Loving Hut was not a let down. Taking into consideration the cheerful atmosphere, cute decorations, and fantastic service, I would definitely reccomend, as well as visit, the restaurant again.
