In addition to a regular season district title, McLean varsity baseball earned a number of all district selections.

Catcher Grant Williams, pitchers Max Groppe and Teddy Merritt and outfielder Anthony Farmakides were named first team selections. Groppe and Williams are committed to play at Emory and Randolph Macon next season respectively. This was Groppe’s second consecutive all district selection.

Outfielder Marshall Pratt, infielders Jackson Kantor and Yanni Farmakides and pitcher James Beahn were named to the second team. Tio Graybill was an honorable mention selection.

The selections reflect the senior leadership on the roster as well as the youth movement coming through the program, with sophomores and juniors earning honors.

The Highlanders earned a first round bye in the district tournament and will face the Yorktown Patriots at home on Tuesday, May 15. The Highlanders have yet to lose at home this season.
