Rap icon Kanye West has been in the news recently, but not for the usual reasons. Instead of being involved with the music industry, two names have been paired together: Kanye West and Donald Trump. This unlikely duo weren’t expected to be so “buddy-buddy ” over the Twitter-sphere but recently Trump has been sub-tweeting and even complimenting West’s actions over the internet.

Besides supporting Trump, West also slammed the Obama administration with a simple tweet about the condition of American cities under the Obama administration.

“Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed,” West said.

His tweets, though sometimes all over the place, have a steady trend of right wing support and support of Trump. Even though West claims not to be a complete Conservative he believes he shares “dragon energy” with Trump and compares their relationship to that of brothers.

“You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to individual thought,” West said.

One of many subtweets West has received from Trump.

This tweet was sub-tweeted by Trump as well as many others and received much media attention including from other stars like John Legend who tried to deter West’s overzealous tweeting but West held firm to his beliefs and the two are still considered to be good friends.

“It really made me sad that such an influential person was siding with a man like Trump but his political opinion is his own and I can’t judge for him. I don’t believe his music will be affected or anything and I still follow his Twitter and all,” McLean junior Liam Maharaj said.

Unlike Maharaj almost 9.5 million have unfollowed West on Twitter due to his recent outburst of support for Trump. Regardless of the hate West doesn’t seem to be getting off the Trump train but wants to be aboard throughout the presidency.
