MUN members travel and compete in debates by defending a certain opinion or belief and they always strive to win the debates they participate in. With the start of a new school year MUN students are preparing to win upcoming travel competitions.

“The future plans for MUN are to complete two travel competitions. Our goal is to win two or three competitions,” club sponsor Rick Barron said.

MUN is popular among students.

“Model United Nations is a large group of students that travel and compete in debates. Club members are given a specific belief or opinion to support or defend,” Barron said.

Participating in MUN allows students to develop important life skills.

“Model United Nations forces students to stay on top of events, to use facts, and forces students to articulate,” Barron said.

MUN has numerous benefits that allow students to get the best experience from a part of MUN.

“The benefits of Model United Nations is it is a way to meet people, it is a different setting, common interests with other people, it is fun, you are able to travel, and be successful,” Barron said.

Joining MUN is very simple, with everyone eligible to join.

“There are no requirements to join Model United Nations; there are only tryouts,” Barron said.
