McLean High School vs Langley High School’s rival football game won ABC 7’s attention for their program, Game of the Week. On Friday, Nov. 8, Highlanders turned off their alarms in the wee hours of the morning and made their way to the pep rally starting at 5:45 am. It was mandatory for football, dance, cheer-leading, and band to attend, however, all were invited. The gym had an enormous student section of fans dressed in black to represent their school on live television.

“Even at 5:45 in the morning, I think it’s really cool how McLean had the chance to show off our school spirit in front of the live news,” leadership student Taylor Benedict said.

As the cameraman broadcast hundreds of students jumping up and down, chanting, and singing at the top of their lungs at 6 am, they were putting their school pride on display. From free t-shirts to showing off basketball tricks, the pep rally got McLean hyped for the final football game of the season.

McLean will go up against the Langley Saxons at home at 7 pm. The game will also be live on ABC 7 so if you don’t want to stand in the freezing cold weather, you can watch it right from your living room couch. Roll Ders!
