Logic presents Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Something new for the “1-800 guy”

Sir Robert Bryson Hall ll, better known as the rapper Logic, opens up to fans about dark secrets on his new album Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Released on May 10, this 5th studio album is brand new to the sound that Logic typically has.

Featuring Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, G-Eazy, Will Smith and more, this project included many artists to create the full picture, however did not quite live up to his hit single, “1-800-273-8255.” “1-800-273-8255” is a song about suicide prevention, the title being the phone number of the prevention hotline.

Nominated for two Grammy awards, this track featured Alessia Cara and the two made for a beautifully insightful and important song. Rising to fame from this 2017 track, Logic began to make a name for himself on his album Everybody.

Besides this, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is has a creative, new sound on all 16 tracks, however is particularly successful on “Keanu Reeves,” and “Homicide” featuring Eminem. One of the true appeals to Logic’s music is that he employs all of his lyrics in a way that hides an important message. The beat of “Keanu Reeves” matches perfectly with the vocals on the track, making for an all around quality material.

Through the creation of this album, Logic wanted people to remember his true purpose in the music industry. Since most fans did not know him outside of the “1-800” song, “I wanted people to be like ‘Yo, the suicide guy raps?” I thought that would be funny as sh*t. Just like, don’t forget what I do, though. I just wanted to let them know. It’s that simple,” Logic said in an interview with HardknockTV.

As for Confessions of a Dangerous Mind overall, Logic is projected to have another chart-topping first week album that will be first in the country, according to Complex magazine. “Though these first week numbers are not as spectacular as his previous projects, sales will undoubtedly increase,” Complex stated.
