McLean Band will hold their first annual mattress fundraiser at McLean High School from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 13. The event will offer 30 different styles of beds for participants to review, as well as premium pillows, luxury sheets, power bases and massage chairs for an affordable price.
“This is the first time we’re holding this kind of fundraiser,” sophomore band member Kyle Li said. “We had events like tag day where we went door-to-door earlier in the year, but this event is something new that the band hopes to continue.”
Displayed in a showroom that allows customers to easily find mattresses to their liking, the fundraiser includes benefits like custom sizing and a non-prorated factory warranty. Every purchase made will benefit the McLean Band program, so interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
“The money from this fundraiser will primarily go towards funding future trips and instruments for next year,” Li said. “Just showing up to check out the event is a great way to support the band program.”
As the event will offer larger savings compared to most retail stores, the fundraiser offers the community an easy way to support a hopeful local school program.
“It might sound a little silly, but it’s important for the band’s success,” Li said. “Showing up really does make a difference.”
