Tonight, the McLean Quiz Bowl team will compete in their regionals tournament at James Madison High School. After a successful season and decisive victory at districts last Saturday, the Highlanders hope to carry the momentum into today’s matchup.
“We have a really strong team and I think we can win tonight, but anything could happen,” senior team captain Clara Marks said.
They will face off individually against Washington-Liberty, Oakton and Westfield, and the team with the most victories at the end wins the tournament. If victorious, McLean will go on to the State Competition in February at Jamestown High School.
“Tonight we will play the runner-up from our district, as well as the winner and runner-up from our neighboring district,” Marks said. “We have gone to states for the past two years and I hope that we can make it again.”
