Nestled in the heart of Falls Church lies the Preservation Biscuit Company, a cozy establishment that embodies the values of Southern hospitality. It looks rather inconspicuous from the outside, but once inside, you are met with the aroma of freshly baked biscuits and a strong sense of community.
Avo-yonder – 4/5
This biscuit was ordered to-go, but to our surprise, was not mushy after a 10 minute drive. Filled with avocado and a bright lemon aioli, it was bursting with flavor. It also comes with a fried egg, which we requested to be cooked over-medium. The biscuit in this dish was different from the biscuit in the sweet dishes we ordered as it was saltier and extremely buttery. Although it tasted great, we were left wishing for a little more avocado. The Avo-yonder provided healthy fats with the avocado and protein with the egg, making it a perfect breakfast option.
Strawberry Shortie – 4.5/5
This biscuit was a beautiful take on the classic dessert of strawberry shortcake. With whipped cream, a sugary strawberry drizzle and macerated strawberries, the biscuit was an explosion of berry flavor that blew away our taste buds. The biscuit was soft and fluffy, with just the right texture. The strawberries were also well-prepared, as they were not too gooey. While it was a tad too sweet, this treat proved to be a tasty delight. For seven dollars, this biscuit was the ideal size and provided a surplus of flavor.
Apple of our Eyes – 5/5
This biscuit was genuinely magnificent. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, a warm cinnamon flavor and the best part was that the apples were not soggy.. It came with a side of whipped cream which gave it a light and fluffy feel. Despite being February, this biscuit brought us right back to fall. If there’s any biscuit to try, we highly recommend this one.
Preservation Biscuit Company went above and beyond our expectations. Each biscuit had a balance of both flavors and textures. The place may appear mundane from the outside, but it offers comforting and delicious biscuits. With its hospitable environment, the Preservation Biscuit Company offers a unique experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
