McLean hosts Veterans Day ceremony
November 11, 2016
Each Veteran’s Day, McLean High School observes and honors the service of past and present United States military personnel by hosting a special ceremony along with American Legion Post 270 at the school’s memorial garden near the front entrance. This year, the service focused on the sacrifices made by our troops to serve and defend our rights to be “free to express ourselves, free to congregate, free to bear arms, free to worship, and free to speak”.
The ceremony featured performances by McLean’s Madrigal singing group as well as remarks by MHS students and parents as well as local politicians and school board members John Faust, Jane Strauss, and Rip Sullivan.
On behalf of the Highlander staff, we thank our armed forces this Veteran’s Day for their brave and dedicated service to our nation.
