The National History Honor Society (NHHS) is gearing up to support students as they study for their upcoming AP history exams. The organization will be hosting a series of study sessions designed to help students review content, refine their writing skills and learn essential test-taking strategies.
“We will be hosting prep sessions for all AP history students, including AP World, Human Geo, and US History,” said senior Veronica Buzzi, NHHS director of operations.
Beyond academic preparation, NHHS also hopes to provide students with a sense of confidence and ease leading up to test day.
“Mostly, we are hoping to settle the nerves that come with big tests like [AP exams] and give students everything they need to succeed,” Buzzi said.
NHHS will coordinate with teachers to provide students with the best opportunities and support possible.
“We are hoping to work with the history teachers to provide the best and most comprehensive review possible for student,” said senior Allie Vargo, NHHS president. “They will be able to show up to give additional support and feedback for both MCQ and FRQ sections of the test curriculums.”
NHHS has not only provided academic support for students but has also helped foster a deeper appreciation for history within the McLean community. By combining academics with a passion for history, NHHS continues to make a meaningful impact on McLean’s student body.
“NHHS has made me a better history student because it has provided me with countless opportunities to better understand my community history and broader history in general,” Buzzi said. “The AP prep sessions will help me succeed by giving me the proper tools to learn.”
