Girls basketball team ready for semifinals
The girls basketball team wins a close game against Oakton, earning a chance to compete for a spot in the state tournament
On Tuesday, the Oakton Cougars showed up at McLean to try (but fail) to knock the girls varsity basketball team from their victorious run in the regional tournament. The entire game, the game was close, the Highlanders only up 29-22 at half. By the end of the game, the Highlanders managed to secure the game, solidifying their win with an eight point lead.
Per usual, senior captain Elizabeth Dufrane lead the team to success, scoring 25 points. The girl’s won 63-55, earning themselves the opportunity to play in the Regional Semi Finals on Feb. 27 at Madison
