Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 : “Operation Grand Heist” – Zombies Left in the Dust
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s new operation includes changes to its multiplayer and blackout modes, but has left zombies in the dust
March 1, 2019
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Operation Grand Heist has added new areas to the blackout map, including the zombies map “Buried” from Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and the multiplayer map Outlaw. Alcatraz from Mob of the Dead was also teased to soon be added to the map.
Operation Grand Heist also features a Blackout Skins for Black Ops Pass holders, the Cosmic Silver back from the retro themed “Dead Ops Arcade” in Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
In Multiplayer, players can now unlock the “Outrider” specialist (a personal favorite of mine) from Call of Duty Black Ops 3 from the Black Market tier progression system. Outrider’s special abilities include her Bow from Black Ops 3 and a remote controlled drone used to scout players. Black Ops Pass holders get access to two new multiplayer maps, Lockup, set in a Police Station invaded by a band of criminals, and Casino, set in a High End Monica Casino, which is also one of the first maps originally at night.
Lockup includes lots of versatility in its design and the police station’s large main roof is the main advantage point of the map.
Casino offers many different game play styles in its large, mostly indoors map, it’s center area is a wide open advantage point that many players will be trying to get to.
A new Call of Duty Zombies map called “Ancient Evil” was teased with a poster, but disappointingly no game play teasers yet, the fact that it is not releasing alongside an operation worries me that it will release just as quietly as the previous zombies map “Dead of the Night”. Ancient Evil will be the last map in the mediocre “Chaos” story line for this season and was rumored to end on a cliffhanger.
After about five hours of total playtime I give Black Ops 4’s Operation Grand Heist a 3 out of 5 for its fun multiplayer maps and blackout additions, but lack of a zombies experience. However, I still do not recommend purchasing the 50-dollar Black Ops Pass, especially when its best content includes is the zombies map “Classified” a remake of the map “Five”, which you can play for cheaper by playing the original “Call of Duty Black Ops.”
