With the success of Fortnite comes great challenge in the form of another game that’s pulling players away from Fortnite. It comes to us in the form of EA’s Apex Legends. With unique heroes and a fast paced style, Apex has players hooked, resembling Fortnite in its prime.

“By far the most fun I’ve had with a game in a while,” junior Rick Chatterjee said.

Along with Chaterjee players have logged onto the game at insane rates. Their servers have around two million players concurrently playing according to Dote Sports.

“I can’t seem to see any way this game will fail especially with how well it’s doing and its uniqueness,” junior Alex Bahmanyar said.

The pure fun and intrigue that Apex offers is something that players strive for in any video game. Apex has also offered in-game outfits that grant no competitive advantage.

Apex has literally seemed to pop into everyone’s life seemingly out of nowhere,” Bahmanyar said.

The popular streaming service, Twitch, has had more viewers than Fortnite consistently for the last couple weeks as well showing this games popularity.

“I think this is the game I’d like to go pro in due to the need for new pro players,” freshman Avi Fruman said.

Gamers can only predict that this is the fall of Fortnite due to so many players leaving a dying Fortnite and hopping on the Apex Legends bandwagon. Even with Fortnite offering $100 million in prize money, unless they do something drastic, it’s not looking good for them.

“I can only imagine the huge amounts of money that Apex will offer players,” Fruman said.
