NBA Award Predictions
November 7, 2018
MVP: My prediction for MVP this season Is Giannis Antetokounmpo or better known as the Greek Freak.
At the beginning of the last season Giannis came out fire averaging 35 PPG in the part of the season. He did cool down a little bit and finished the season averaging 27 PPG which is still amazing. One of the problems for why Giannis cooled down is because of his team. They’re not very good when Giannis is not playing, even when he’s playing they still look kind of bad.
The biggest problem was their coaching. During the season they had a head coach change by firing Jason Kidd and replacing him with Joe Prunty. With him in as head coach the team just continued to go down.
This year not only did Giannis improve but his team got better because of their new head coach Mike Budenholzer. With the adding of Budenholzer Giannis will be able to get better with a good head coach and the team’s defense will get better because they have one of the best defensive coaches in the league. Budenholzer got to learn from one pf the best coaches ever coaching alone side Gregg Popovich for 17 years.
The Rookie Of The Year award is based off of the rookie that gets the most minutes and who capitalizes on those minutes. My prediction to win Rookie Of The Year is Trae Young. There is no other point guard on the team that is going to take the ball from Trae Young. They do have Jeremy Lin on the team but the Atlanta Hawks are in rebuilding mode so the Hawks want their young players to have the ball. So far Young has shown that he deserves to win Rookie Of The Year.
6th Man Of The Year: My prediction for 6th Man Of The Year Is Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma stunned everyone last year by having an amazing year and being tied with Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle for most points averaged by a Lakers player.
Its no secret that Kuzma likes to shoot the ball so by having him on that second unit it gives him a chance to playing with one of the best playmaking points guards in the league Rajon Rondo who will give him the best chance to win 6th Man Of The Year.
Most Improved Player: After Markelle Fultz rookie season people already started calling him a bust. He missed most of the season with an injury and when he did play he was not good. He finished the season averaging 6 PPG. This Markelle will be fully healthy and will have the best opportunity as the 76ers starting shooting guard to win Most Improved Player.
Coach Of The Year: Brad Stevens has been in the voting to win Coach Of The Year for many years now and has lost to MIke D’Antoni and Dwane Casey. Those two years they deserved to win it but now since they’ve gotten their awards its time for Stevens to get his. In the 2016-17 season the Boston Celtics won 53 games and lost 29 finishing first in the East. The Celtics got all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals but lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 5. No one was really surprised by this because Boston had to go against the best player in the world Lebron James.
