Sweet Frog is a frozen yogurt chain with many locations in Virginia- including one in Reston and one opening soon in Oakton.
The yogurt is self-serve, and there is an extensive list of flavors listed on the website, although only a few of these are available at any one time.
In addition, there is a topping bar where the customer can add their own, choosing from a variety that includes marshmallows, chocolate chips, gummy candies, and crushed up cookies, as well as sprinkles and chocolate sauce, and many, many more.
The store is clean and bright, although there are very few tables, and the store can become crowded quickly, due to the fact that it is quite small.
The yogurt itself is delicious, although it tastes very similar to every other frozen yogurt place, and there is hardly any difference between the yogurt at Sweet Frog and the yogurt at Lava Yogurt in McLean. Additionally, there are many more toppings at Lava Yogurt, and much more space, and Lava Yogurt changes its flavors much more often.
However, the yogurt at Sweet Frog tastes clean and fresh, and does not taste as artificial as other yogurt places. The cake batter and the cookies and cream both tasted exactly the way they were described, but the red velvet tasted like the cake batter just dyed red, and the cheesecake tasted nothing at all like actual cheesecake, which was very disappointing.
The chocolate was rich and creamy however, and the peanut butter was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The best flavor however was the original tart, which, unlike other yogurt places, had the perfect tang.
Overall, the yogurt here was very good, and definitely worth another trip back.
