New improvements throughout McLean

As students come back from their break, they may notice some new additions and improvements throughout the inside and outside of McLean.

“We added a lot of signage throughout the building that includes…directional room signs, ‘McLean Highlanders’ sign in the main lobby, scoreboard topper in the main gym, ‘Home of the Highlanders’ sign on the brick by stadium field and ticket/restroom signs at stadium field,” McLean Athletic Director Greg Miller said.

The replacement signs are not only replacing old handmade signs but they are also bettering the visual appeal of the school in general. This sentiment was a big part in the reason McLean decided to add these new additions.

“We are always looking for ways the enhance the aesthetics of our school. Before the room signs were hung, we have had 8×10 taped up pieces of white paper giving directions to classroom. We feel the new signs go a long way in making our hallways look nicer,” Miller said.

Students and staff surround every inch of the school at all times, and having a visually pleasing and spirited environment has a great impact on anyone involved.

“It is very important that our students, faculty and community are proud of our school and the building as a whole. Unfortunately we were renovated about 17 years ago and there is no new renovation planned. We are always looking for ways to improve the facilities of our building so that students and faculty are proud of the facilities that they spend so much time in,” Miller said.

For any student interested in getting a look for themselves, the new signs can be seen throughout the entire building, the main gym, and the stadium field.
