PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Review: A fun, fresh, frantic game

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds offers a tactical, strategic and skilled based Battle Royale game

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a multiplayer online Battle Royale, last man shooting game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was developed and published by PUBG Corporation and is available to play on Xbox One or P.C.

Each game in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds starts the same way with 100 players being parachuted out of an airplane on to an 8×8 km island map. The key is that each player decides when to jump out of the airplane. Once players reach the ground, it is then a free for all as players scramble to find weapons and equipment to help their chances of survival. Weapons and equipment are scattered all around the map in buildings and houses. A nice touch is the game has is a force shield that slowly invades the map that makes the map become smaller and smaller as time goes on, creating an up tempo game, which keeps the users on their feet as players fight each other until there is one player left standing, who is then declared the winner.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds does a nice job in finding a balance between a skilled shooting game and a strategic game. While it is vital that the user has to be somewhat good at shooting games, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds allows the user to use their wits to try and be the last one standing. With the choice of when to jump out of the airplane and where to move on the map based off the force shield, it allows players without much shooting game experience to hold their own.

One area that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds needs improvement in is their servers. Since this is a new game, the servers have crashed way too often causing users to be forced out of games. The faulty servers also leads to lag time and the game freezing for gamers. One other negative is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds doesn’t have much variety in their weapons or items in their game, but I expect there to be updates to add more variety as the game becomes older and more established.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds currently costs $29.99 to buy. This is a fair price because even though there is just one gameplay there are no micro transactions, so the user is getting the entire game with all the items that come with the game.

I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys survival or Battle Royale games, but also to people who are looking for something different and new to play.
