Cold weather essentials for boys and girls

Cold+weather+essentials+for+boys+and+girls

Fall is every fashionista’s favorite weather because the cold weather offers the perfect opportunity to layer and accessorize. For boys and girls alike, these articles of clothing are essential to a Fall/Winter wardrobe. Take note of the trendy examples by Urban Outfitters, and get ready for a season filled with fashion fun!

1. Cable-knit scarves

Scarves are a great way to dress up any outfit! Long thought of as an unfashionable, matronly piece, scarves have slowly but surely made their way into the younger markets. Opt for thicker fabrics like wool or acrylic yarn. Fall colors are olive, camel, navy, and maroon.

2. Fingerless gloves

Fingerless gloves are the accessory of the future. They eliminate the inconvenience of dowdy, heavy mittens, yet still provide the warmth and comfort of this age-old essential. Also, they enable the wearer to easily access his or her smartphone or other touchscreen device!

6. Military-style jacket

At long last, military-style jackets have returned! Although they were a staple of the 80s and 90s, military jackets went out of fashion with the return of the bubble parka and knit cardigan. However, thanks to a recent revival and renewed interest in grunge fashion, military-style jackets are trendy once again! Worn with jeans or leggings; military-style jackets can give any outfit a cool, retro feel.

7. Knit sweater

The knit sweater characterized American teenage fashion during the 1950s. Although it achieved sporadic popularity during the late 80s and early 90s, it was considered not trendy (or even dowdy!) to be caught wearing one. However, knit-lovers can once again rejoice! The knit sweater has made a comeback, and it’s here to stay.
