Tips for Senioritis

Tips for Senioritis

slumpedThere always comes a time in high school student’s life when they reach their last year of high school and as seniors you try to balance extracurricular activities, a social life, college admission, and perhaps a job. Along the course of the year you get accepted into a college and the effort you put into school work decreases and keeping up a social life becomes even more important. All the hard work you put in the past 3 years has paid off and you finally deem it appropriate, be lazy and not attend classes and wear an excess of college sweatshirts and sweat pants.

Well, here are some ways to keep you on type of your game for the remainder of your high school career because although you have your college life set, you still need to graduate with the rest of your class and if you have scholarships, to continue proving that you deserve those scholarships.

1.)    Plan Ahead: Usually all activities are planned before the year even starts. Keep an organizer and planner and write down all these important dates so you are prepared for them ahead time and write yourself memos on your laptop or on your phone to remind you a day or two before so if there is any preparation needed that you are ready.

2.)    Manage Time: Senior Year is all about balance. You need to keep a strict time schedule and abide by it otherwise you are screwed. Schedule time in the day to study for each class a few hours and then an hour break where you can eat or watch television and unwind a little bit.

3.)    Eat Healthy: If your health is in good shape than the rest will also fall in place. You should be eating 3 regular meals a day and yes breakfast is the most important meal of the day so stock up on your grains and vitamins before the day has started to keep you energized throughout and feeling fresh and ready to take on the high school world.

4.)    Don’t Overschedule: Although you want to prove yourself to colleges and try to get as much on your applications as possible you should not bite off more than you can chew you need to keep your schedule with open time slots so have time to relax otherwise you will appear as a walking corpse.

5.)    Have Fun and Breathe: This is most likely one of the best years of your life it’s your time to enjoy the hard work that has finally paid off and you’re ready to take your first step into adulthood.  Enjoy this time you have left with your friends attend sporting events, take road trips, plan girls nights (guys nights?). You are almost finished your adolescent years. Make each and every moment count.
